feels good that everyone was wrong about VY :D its amazing what he has done with you guys team and that talent, had he played from the get go and won a game or 2 out of those first 4, you would be right in the playoff hunt.....so much for calvin johnson dreams lol....
i think tenn is going in the right way, pacman is showing why he was the first db picked now and is stepping up big time, plus the defense is playing better as a whole , all the things that are making vince so productive and popular, are all the reasons that you couldnt mark down or time at the combines, im glad he proved to everyone that he can play qb, and win games, what he has done so far this year has been amazing...
jus came to say congrats to titans fans, its gotta be fun being a fan right about now when your young, over achieving and winning

He hasn't signed an extension. It was reported that we offered him one, but they're keeping it hush-hush. They say we're going to wait until the end of the season before we talk about it, but who knows. His contract expires at the end of this year, but we have a 1 year option on him. He'll likely get a multi-year deal rather than the option year.

"Our best linebacker yesterday was wearing #50 for the other team"
- Colts GM Bill Polian
Yikes, sounds like he wants the Colts LB's to get in gear. I'm glad we got Thornton, though. He's been good all year and had arguably his 2 best games of the year against the Colts.

If you go by opponents winning %, we have played the toughest schedule in the NFL.

A Fan's Offseason Wish List:
1. CB Antoine Winfield--Anyone who's watched a Titans game this season knows that Reynaldo Hill is not cut out to be a starter. Pacman has played very well against the pass and is strong against the run as well. The Titans need to add a legit CB across from him, and (since they'll have the money) why not add one of the best in the NFL???
2. Fire Defensive Coordinator Jim Schwartz--Or ask him to resign. Or wait till he leaves one day after practice, change the locks to the Titans' facilities, and refuse to let him back in. It doesn't matter to me. The Titans defense has been terrible for several years now, and it's not like the defense is totally devoid of talent (i.e. KVB, Haynesworth, Bulluck, Thornton, Hope, Pacman, etc.). Eventually, you HAVE to consider that its the Titans defensive scheme and NOT its defensive players that are the problem.
3. FS Ken Hamlin/Asante Samuel/Deon Grant--I don't think Samuel will leave NE, so that basically leaves Hamlin/Grant. Either would be upgrades over the oft-burned Lamont Thompson. Both have ties to TN (Hamlin was born in TN; Grant attended school at UT). If I had to choose, I'd probably go with Hamlin; however, I think it's more likely that we sign Grant, who's already familiar with AFC South offenses (and what better way to stick it to the rival Jags than to steal away one of their players?).
4. Re-Sign OG/OT/C Jacob Bell--Bell is a good OL and has been one of the few constants the past couple of years. Plus, his versatility (and more importantly, his WILLINGNESS to move spots along the OL) make him incredibly valuable in the event of injury.
5. DE Dwight Freeney/Charles Grant/Jared Allen/Justin Smith--Ultimately, I think that Grant & Allen will stay put. That leaves us either Freeney or Smith. I'd rather have Freeney, but I think it's likely that some other team ponies up a TON of money for him. Smith wouldn't be a bad consolation prize. He's good against the run & the pass, and he knows how to get after the QB. He'd provide us with a good bookend to KVB and would move LaBoy to a backup role (which he's better suited for anyway).
6. Re-Sign DT Robaire Smith--Smith has been a surprise this season, especially in light of Haynesworth well-publicized problems (and inconsistent play in general) and Starks' failure to live up to his potential thus far. I think it's likely that the Titans keep Robaire around to pair with Haynesworth next season, cut ties with Starks, and keep Tony Brown (who's also played well this season) around as a backup.
7. Do NOT Re-Sign WR Drew Bennett--Personally, I think Bennett's an OK WR. However, he'd likely want at least what we paid Givens last season (which was WAY too much). And Bennett (who's nothing more than a good #2 WR) isn't worth that much money. I'd much rather the Titans draft a good young WR to groom with VY.
8. Re-Sign WR Bobby Wade--Wade has flourished in the #3 WR role and he's pretty good at KR duty as well. Plus, he seems to have earned the trust of VY in clutch situations.
9. Do NOT Re-Sign RB Chris Brown--Will he play this season? What kind of numbers will he put up? Will his agent demand a trade? Is he injured? No one's doubting that Brown's talented. But he's a walking game-time-decision (even when he's high on the depth chart). The Titans should take the opportunity to bring the drama to an end.
10. Get a QB not-named Kerry Collins--As good as Vince is/has been, the Titans would be in serious trouble if he got injured (which, given his style of play, isn't outside the realm of possibility). However, Collins is clearly not a reliable QB anymore (as he showed in the first few games). Preferably, try to sign a vet QB who isn't an absolute statue in the pocket--maybe Jeff Garcia or Anthony Wright.
There you go. Maybe one or two of those things will happen...

thanks for that Mickthegreat, I always see that alot of people on various boards including this one do not have the Titans taking any FAs. I seriously think that we will make a run for Ken Hamlin/Asante Samuel and Charles Grant. I do not think we should re sign Wade though because Brandon Jones is a good WR, plus if we take a WR in this draft which 80% chance that we will, we will probably take Ted Ginn, he will give us the game changing ability on PR and KR.

So do I.
At our current spot at #15, Ginn and Nelson are at the top of my wish list. I'd be equally happy with either one. I have Ginn as my #2 overall WR and Nelson as the #1 safety in the draft.

What's the difference between Merrill Hoge and a mosquito? Eventually the mosquito will stop sucking.

I think most of you guys would agree that our 2 biggest needs in the 2007 draft will be WR and CB. What do you guys think about our chances at having the draft go like this...
1st round: Tedd Ginn Jr.- WR, Ohio State
2nd round: Marcus McCauley-CB, Fresno State
3rd round: Ryan Kalil- C, USC
We also have a great shot at getting an impact FA this offseason since we have plenty of cap room. I hope we go for someone like Asante Samuel.
