How does Floyd rate among DTs?
Floyd isn't even on the board...

P.S I think if this Offence keeps the pace it kept against Denver. It will give the D more opportunity to force those turnovers. Taking the opposing teams run game away and forcing them to put the ball in the air. Leading to more sacks and more takeaways. Keeping games close and playing dink and dunk requires an extremely smart, disciplined and talented D. Which we have neither.

Our D-Line does need all sorts of help though. Missing Spencer has been an extreme burden and Crawford being out injured has also severely hampered what could have been. This is where classy cornerbacks will save us in the coming weeks. With a lack of help on the Defensive line. You need good quality corners to make up the difference. We won't be playing anyone as robotic or Accurate as Manning for the rest of the year.

I have relatively high hopes moving forward.

You mean if our offense can score 48 points a game from here on out, our D will be better for it? Lol thats not going to happen is it? 2 TDs vs SD and KC kinda prove that out, right?

You do realize that not only has Peyton tore us up but so has Eli and Rivers Right? In 5 games 3 QBs have passed for near or over 400 yards. I think your kidding yourself

Hmmmm. The Rams have the 6th best line in all of football? And 4 of the top 6 O-lines have an 8-11 combined record? Im not sure how they grade but my eyes have told me the Rams O-line has been terrible and Jake Long was a horrible pick up.

Oh, and the 4-1 and 3rd highest scoring team in the NFC Seahawks have the 31st ranked O-line? Lol..I dont know about that

That was the Bruce Carter that we drafted who was a converted Safety at UNC. Well, we beefed him up for the 3-4 so he could stuff the run, blitz the QB and not get swallowed by blockers.

This whole Monte scheme took a good thing and flipped it upside down. Now we're starting to learn how many square pegs we really do have that can't be shoved in round holes.

I think Sean Lee is out of his element too. He was always a sideline to sideline or downhill attacker. Asking him to drop back occassionally is fine, but who are we trying to kid by asking him to cover receivers every down? His tackle numbers have been way down this year... except against Peyton where he had to make all his tackles backing up on his heels.

So we have CBs out of place, LBs out of place and a front 4 that doesn't create enough pressure. Can I get a HELL YEAH for the Turnovers that make it all worth it?!!!

Score 48 again. Might as well get used to these shootouts and with Washington having 2 weeks to get ready for us Im sure it'll be another high scoring game. Agree? We need to limit our turnovers and hope we dont have a hangover from the Denver game. We put a lot of effort into winningn that game, might have a letdown.

Good news is that Washington doesn't have a TE worthy of serious mention. Their receivers can also be limited as well, imo. My worry is everything based on RG3 running the read option. If he starts to scramble and find success, he's gonna torch us way worse than Alex Smith did on his "career rushing" day against us. That would open up the run game for them as well. They had CRAZY success against us running the ball with Morris using the deception of RG3's ability to take it himself or throw it. Is Morris a healthy play for this game? Helu I'm not as afraid of because he's not a shifty cutter.

The offense cannot let up from last week though.

Cool fact: PFF says Terrence Williams leads the league in % caught. He's caught 84.2% of the passes thrown in his direction.

Limit RG3 by giving him no room to run during the pass rush. Use the speed of the linebackers wisely to guard the flats and lower middle instead of having them turn their back too much to run with receivers and tight ends. Take advantage of Bruce Carter by having him spy on RG3 since he can track well.

On offense just move the ball. They can get it done in a variety of ways. Don't abandon the run unless you get down by a ton, and spread the ball around to the many weapons they have. If they double Dez there is Witten. Terrance Williams is getting good at getting open, so he can be a factor. If there's no one open deep then Murray and Dunbar are good at gaining yards in the passing game as well.

Basically the defense needs to get stops and turnovers while the offense effectively moves the ball down the field instead of overthinking and getting too cute.

Edit: I just saw that Miles Austin is practicing on a limited basis, so if he can go there's another weapon to make use of in the passing game.

Sounds like Jakar Hamilton will take Will Allen's spot on the roster. Got my radar sensors ready. Hopefully he brings some much needed promise to the Safety group.

Been really impressed with the humilty and hunger in Terrence Williams. Was watching his interview on DC.com. He really took to heart the responsibility of last week's fumble. Showed up last Sunday and had a really good game for us. I'm still a little worried about the way he catches balls with his body, but at this efficiency rate, you can't argue too much. It's pretty uncommon for a rookie WR to be so insync with a QB this early. He must be getting good separation for Romo to find him, which would speak well for his route running.

Scandrick's interview is pretty awesome too. Love the way he handles the media and disses questions that they shouldn't be asking. As much as I've been bashing Kiffin for his scheme not fitting players, Scandrick is the one guy that stands out to me as someone who is really stepping into it quite well. Carr's been awesome, but I don't think scheme bothers him either way. ..oh and I guess and Hatcher/Selvie are working out well too. So there are some pluses! I'm not a total debbie downer. lol

I guess it comes down to how well we handle the read option.
They attacked us in the air in the 1st game and killed us on the ground in the 2nd.
With Griffin not being at full strength I think he'll rely more heavily on his arm in this one. Wouldn't hurt to spy him anyway though.
They don't have the weapons that denver does so we should be able to do a decent job in coverage. Keep an eye on old man moss who always seems to frustrate us. But when they do run we better be ready to handle morris.

On offense, we know we need to do more of what we did against denver which is go downfield and be aggressive. If the oline does its job we'll be able to move the ball well and score against the skins. Give murray his touches but keep spreading the ball around to the TE's and WR's. Make sure Dez and Williams get plenty of opportunities especially on crossing routes and deep posts.

Another point someone made was avoiding a hangover, so coming out with energy and attacking on both sides of the ball, we need to wipe last weeks game clean and realize whats at stake in this one. So being awake and fired up is a must!!

For everything that's going wrong for the Atlanta Falcons, one thing that has gone right is Osi Umenyiora. The veteran defensive lineman seems rejuvenated by his change of address. Since leaving the Big Apple for the Dirty South, Umenyiora looks more like the guy who became a star QB harasser for the Giants.

He's got four sacks, two ff and an INT for a score. He's showing signs of being the player he once was teaming him with Ware would be a great move.

Maybe not but we can throw in a low draft pick or one of the many running backs (tanner, dunbar)that we don't know how to utilize.

I will take any team to be honest. We need his salary off the books.

So do you like the T-Will pick now? 5 games into the season and he's already made Austin expendable. Who would've thought that? Even as a fan of the pick, he has exceeded expectations.

No idea on mr fumble and dropped passes yet. He plays like a rookie.

But I think Austin is expendable as every other star on this team.

I think we need to gut the team and get back what we can.

That includes Teacher's Pet Witten and the rest of the stars you love.

The rest you post is fannie boy nonsense IMHO.

And fact is the last time this offense was any good and consistent was Austin as the #1. Simple fact.

Offenses run best when their is a pecking order. I don't believe in this spread it out stuff -- especially against good defense.

But as usual, Jerrah has his boys he like to diddle and the rest is same old same old.

Playing favorites, scrapping certain players, praising others, and running a disorganized football team with no organizational accountability.

No. I don't think Garrett is stupid enough to think Monte Kiffin Tampa 2 was the way to go given all the time and money invested in the EXACT OPPOSITE OF THE TAMPA 2.

I think Garrett would have kept Ryan and tried to tinker out improvements.

I think someone talked to Jerrah and since he is too stupid to understand otherwise he got enamored with Kiffin.

Old dude with a system that does not work in the spread world who is too old to be anything but a 2-3 year hire.
