They both went through their reads...watch Mcgee, he doesnt look the field over at all. It's a problem. In Moore's case, he looked fantastic in his first preseason. He looked like a pro QB...Mcgee has a long way to go.
edit...as for who he's playing with. He's had Hurd, Ogletree, and Phillips. But that's beside the point, his head doesnt move. That's the major thing here, he doesnt go through any progressions.

I'm going to give him time and the accuracy is encouraging...but the fact that his tunnel vision is still this bad in year 2, is very discouraging.
Brandon Sharpe! woot

Damn that pick was a beauty! With all the backup linebackers making plays tonight, I bet that Sean Lee is going to show something special Thursday.

Brandon Williams sure is looking fast off of that edge...even faster when his hand is on the ground.
And there is Vic Butler!
I love our backup OLBs!

Are they gonna play Thursday? Damn 2 games in a week gotta love it :D
It really is a testament to how our back-up units have improved in just a year. We got our ass beat by the Raiders when our 1's came out, now guys were flying all over the place, and sans that Shipleyzzzz PR we shut them out.
I couldn't get a good read on Jason Williams though because we have Leon Williams playing the same position and both wear numbers in the 50's, so I couldn't tell them apart.

I have no idea if they're playing Thursday. I wouldnt be surprised either way.
Both Williams' played well. I heard Jason has been a little lost here and there in camp, but he didnt make any glaring mistakes tonight and he played well on ST as well. I thought he looked good in the base defense.
And wow....I just saw Phillips may have torn his acl. Guy must have an insanely high pan tolerance because, he didnt look like he was in pain. What a big blow this would be.

Damn, I just read that also, talk about a blow :( Not that it hurts our chances that much because he was a 2nd or 3rd TE, but talk about a promising young player who was constantly getting better and you can't help but feel bad. He was about to take Bennett's job. Good thing TE is one of those positions where it's not that big a deal, but he was a weapon as a 2nd TE.

The potential loss of Phillips sucks. He's a better blocker than Marty B. I'm curious to see how Sicko keeps playing. He looked solid last night.

I had thought Marty B was a dominating blocker?
That was always the story line .....

Hate to use
This bad cliche'
But Mr. Bowen
Sure came to play!
Note in the 2nd half that the NBC camera crew was fixated on that jersey reading SICKO when they huddled.
Ogletree sightings everywhere! More UVA players!
Dallas has enough TEs & LBs that somebody who won't make the roster will be scarfed up ASAP. Injuries already overtaking some teams in the 2nd wk. of camp & nobody will trade for players being cut right & left, but they might be watching the Dallas cut list very closely at ILB & TE.
Having said all that, gotta find a roster spot for Phillips, who I notice is one of several 2nd-yr or 3rd yr. UVA players including Ogletree & the other PK. I attribute that to the Parcells influence & recommendations from his former asst. Al Groh, although both gone by then from Dallas & UVA the pipeline to Virginia is pumping out late rounders & UDFAs. Keep 'em coming!
Buehler's Day Off? Converting him to an accurate FG kicker is the only obvious downside of the opener, round peg in the square hole, like teaching a cat to dance. He could be Vanderjagt Disaster 2.0, should've drafted a kicker, Leigh Tiffin & Brett Swensen were both right there but Dallas wanted an experienced kicker & passed, took Lissemore in the 7th. Wade needs to fix this hole pronto, before camp breaks.

Yes, I've been saying it all this off-season, we have very nice depth in the Front 7. It's a good thing Marcus Spears got hurt in my opinion, so now Stephen Bowen can start and Jason Hatcher will get increased PT. Not a fan of Spears. I think Bowen and Hatcher are clearly better.
I don't think Brandon Williams or Victor Butler offer much in terms of versatility, but they sure can rush the passer. No wonder D-Ware was raving about Williams. And Butler really flashed last year before the injury.
So, how does everybody think the Final Roster of 53 will be as of now? I'll take a crack at it.
QB-Tony Romo
QB-Jon Kitna
QB-Stephen McGee
RB-Marion Barber
RB-Felix Jones
RB-Tashard Choice
FB-Deon Anderson
WR-Miles Austin
WR-Roy Williams
WR-Dez Bryant
WR-Patrick Crayton
WR-Sam Hurd
WR-Kevin Ogletree
TE-Jason Witten
TE-Martellus Bennett
TE-John Phillips/Scott Sicko (pending on when Phillips returns. Either way, we will carry 3 Tight Ends).
OT-Doug Free
OT-Marc Colombo
OT-Alex Barron
OT/OG-Robert Brewster
OT-Sam Young
OG-Leonard Davis
OG-Kyle Kosier
OG-Montrae Holland
C-Andre Gurode
DE-Igor Olshansky
DE-Stephen Bowen
DE-Jason Hatcher
DE-Marcus Spears
NT-Jay Ratliff
NT/DE-Josh Brent
DE/NT Sean Lissemore
OLB-DeMarcus Ware
OLB-Anthony Spencer
OLB-Brandon Williams
OLB-Victor Butler
ILB-Bradie James
ILB-Keith Brooking
ILB-Sean Lee
ILB-Brandon Sharpe
CB-Terrence Newman

Buehler needs to get his **** together. I think we might be in a bind here if he keeps kicking fg's like that.

I don't think drafting a kicker made sense, Buehler hadn't even got a chance to work on it yet. It'd make much more sense to do as we are, give him a shot to earn it, let him finally practice on accuracy and not deep balls, if he falters pick up Matt Stover who already stated he wants to play here. If we drafted a rookie, and him and Buehler sucked, we'd have to cut the rookie kicker to get Stover and it was a wasted pick.
Stover is very accurate, and if it's over 50 yards I'd still rather line up Buehler because he has the leg to reach those.

As for that one post up there...Bowen should start, but they already said Hatcher will be starting.
And as for teh Virginia guys...John Garrett used to coach at Virginia, he's been in Jerry's ear with some of these guys. John Phillips and Ogletree are Garrett's guys.

Damn it sucks to hear that Phillips is out for the year. He looked great out there last night. Hopefully he comes back in good shape next year because his progress so far has been very good. Without him TE depth is still good, but he looked like he was going to add more to that. I guess we'll see what Sicko is made out of.

Also...as for that 53 man roster up there.
Sicko as the third TE.
Siavii instead of Lissemore.
Jason Williams instead of Sharpe.
Jamar Wall is making the team.
Octavien will probably sneak on and can play two positions.
Leon Williams still has a shot.
