The simple solution if they actually want to fix the main event and not have it be a heel vs heel shitshow in front of 70k people is to give HHH/Bryan the stipulation that, if HHH wins, Bryan never gets another World Title shot. If Bryan wins, he's added to the Orton/Batista match later that night.
That's a good idea. They can make DB-HHH a no DQ and Hunter can try to injure Bryan (such as chair shots to his already injured shoulder) so he has no chance of winning the title, even if he gets by HHH.

I like that stipulation, but as masked man pointed out, it all does become very predictable at that point.

Because Rock/Cena last year wasn't predictable? Austin/HBK at WrestleMania 14? Andre/Hogan at WrestleMania 3?

The quick fix would be to put HHH-Bryan in the Main Event with an added career stipulation attached.

Yeah but those were good ideas that made money.

HHH in the main event of WM30, great idea.

Rock/Cena II was a good idea? Could have fooled me. But we get it, you like to pretend that Bryan won't draw anyone so he shouldn't be given a title match Mania. Let's just have super hated Batista against super hated Orton in the worst title match in Mania history instead.

HHH is the biggest heel in the company, so yeah it actually does make a lot of sense. He's way more over than Orton is, and the storyline has been about Bryan-HHH far more than Bryan-Orton.

The problem is that you're such a fanboy that you literally cannot imagine anything other than an entire show dedicated to jacking off Bryan and handing him the title. Putting him in the Main Event at the biggest show of the year against the biggest heel in the company is still unacceptable, which makes you a generally worthless fan from the WWE's POV because you are literally going to ***** about everything no matter what.

And did Rock/Cena make a lot of money? Then it was a good idea. Nobody gives a **** about workrate.

I guess it's okay to ignore the weekly reactions ******** on nearly every match because people are pissed that Bryan isn't fighting for the WWE title at WrestleMania. It's just fanboy smarks you see. And you speak of this over hate that HHH gets...honestly, his reactions have been muted for months because he's playing the world's worst tweener role. This is all a part of Triple H not deserving the Mania main event in the year 2014 without being the WWE Champion.

You want to call me a fan boy? I'll be laughing when a stadium full of people in New Orleans chants Daniel Bryan during a horrible WWE title match featuring Batista/Orton.

As others have said, putting Punk into the Main Event would solve that problem too, assuming he's willing.

At this point, yes I think it's entirely ok to ignore the large % of that audience. If they ran a promotion it would be in a ditch in about a month. You don't give the toys to the kid that cries the most.

That said, I think most Bryan fans would be fine with the scenario I posed. You just happen to be particularly whiny.

Also, this:

Quote:
But will those plans affect the final WrestleMania product? That’s the question. The crowd on Monday in Green Bay did a disservice to the cause, to be sure — they chanted random non sequiturs over good matches and generally became the worst version of any wrestling crowd ever, inserting irony into matches where it wasn’t deserved, chanting just to hear their own voices.

That has been the problem with the rise in crowd participation over the last decade. WWE knows it has a live test market every night it puts on a show. But John Cena’s “Cena sucks!” refrain proves chants should not always be taken literally — they can be general statements of dissatisfaction, or just something fun to scream. And even when “Cena sucks!” really means Cena sucks, that’s not always a bad thing, and not necessarily a reason to change direction. Singing along to the Fandango entrance music may be a paean to an earlier era of simpler gimmicks, or it might be an arena-wide circle jerk.

Not to pull a swerve double-turn finish on you here, but what if we — the “smart” fans — are the heels? We’re the ones flaunting our ironic intelligence and hogging the spotlight. We’re the ones booing John Cena when he’s supposed to get cheers. We’re the ones illegally streaming pay-per-views instead of buying them. We’re the ones raising our noses at the company that’s brought us so much joy.

And in the main event at WrestleMania, the heels normally lose.
In an era where most smarks go to arenas just to hear themselves be assholes, they're going to be taken less and less seriously. Chant Husky Harris? **** you. Enjoy Batista-Orton.

How is that even fair? He quits for a month and they decide he gets the Mania main event instead of the guy considerably more over than him right now?

No, they wouldn't. Even the crowd on Monday got a little hesitant when he demanded to fight Triple H, instead of being in the title match. And you act as if listening to consistent crowd reactions is a bad thing. Bryan is INSANELY over at live events, to the levels that Cena, Batista, Orton, Triple H or Punk never touched. It has happened week in and week out, and you being a little asshole who belittles smarks because they want to see Bryan win the title after being screwed for 7 months doesn't make you cool.

Fair? It's a scripted television program, Corey. It's not real.

Read the quote above. David Shoemaker is the epicenter of smark writing (love the guy, btw) and even he is arguing that maybe it's best to ignore these asshole smark crowds.

I have read what he says, but that's the equivalent to booking Austin/Vince at WrestleMania and having Rock face The Big Show in 1999.

Except Randy Orton isn't The Rock. Daniel Bryan vs. Randy Orton is only interesting if your entire objective is to see Bryan win the title. That's it. It's a nod to the Bryan fanboys.

I didn't want Bryan/Orton. I thought Bryan/Punk/Cena was the best possible Mania main event.

This annoyed me too. The night before in the Twin Cities the only time the fans would chant anything was during a boring match (Divas, Young/O'Neil). Crowd was fully invested in the matches that were billed as important (Shield/Wyatts, Chamber). Nobody gave a **** about ungassed, biker shorts Batista there either.

If Reigns/Wyatt was any good, nobody would have booed or got bored. Both are the most manufactured wrestlers in the WWE right now, so it was a weird/odd decision to go for it right then.

Also, on the Masked Man, he's part of this new age of "Complain about 'other smarks'" Smarks. If you look at these internet places, the most popular threads are people agreeing that "Smarks" suck.

Young/O'Neil was good enough match

I actually agree with Bert. They have some good chemistry and I wish the fans would give them a chance. AJ/Cameron was an absolute mess, but the fans were still into AJ. It's not her fault that Cameron is pathetically awful. Same with Del Rio really, they were chanting for him a fair amount in the Batista debacle.

Also, I'm with jballa in terms of the annoying "Anti-Smark Smark" crap. His latest article was absurdly annoying, and his whole "THE FANS ARE THE HEELS" crap is ridiculous. The "HUSKY HARRIS" chants have appeared TWICE, and they were both done by tiny fractions of the crowd which died out quickly.

It was ok, nobody cared. Seriously, more people used that as a bathroom break than the Divas match.
