I had been looking for another band for a while, hadn't found anything I like as much as some of my favorites for a while, and had heard a lot of things about Dr. Dog. Well it took them to pop up on my Pandora, but one song got me hooked. These guys are ******* fantastic, their bass player (and one of the lead singers) is so good, and has a voice that, at times, reminds me of John Lennon. The other lead vocalist (also the lead guitar-really ******* good) has a voice like Dylan, except understandable, lol. And the rest of the band does backups/harmonies.
The music is really groovy, with flawless changes that work really well, despite often times changing it up quite a bit. Great lyrics as well, especially in their newer music, which is something I value more than I think most others.
This song is probably my favorite of what I've found so far. At any given moment the song sounds different, and unless your are sitting through the whole thing, you can leave it (not that anyone should choose to, lol) and come back, and almost think its a different song. Really cool.
But I really haven't heard a song I don't like. I've heard a couple of their more psychedelic rock songs, and I like those less so far, but that was when they had a different lineup as well, their more recent music is as good as it gets for me.
Here's another song I really like, but I really suggest checking more of them out then just these songs.
Oh yeah, and their from my area(ish), which makes it even cooler for me.

I'm kinda slowly devolving into a hipster with my taste in music. I absolutely refuse to progress any further than my music taste though. You won't catch me dead in those glasses or with the general hipster attitude. Seriously though, Dr. Dog is ******* legit.

good find scotty. im surprised i havent heard of them before since theyre from the philly area.
Scotty? well I'm flattered. You might want to apologize to scotty though, haha.
I'm going to be up at the Movin' On show. I'm bringing either two or three of my friends and meeting one of my friends who goes to school up there. I'm going to be driving back that night though, my one friend who is coming works Saturdays, so we won't be able to stay. Have you been to any of the previous ones, or know when they end, approximately?

Vid, Freelance Whales are sick. Really cool band. I always finding myself thinking I want to listen to them more, but oftentimes don't get the chance...
MOTH... if you like Jack Johnson, listen to some Ben Howard. He's got a similar style of music to him, just better. His voice, guitar playing (especially his guitar playing), and imagination when it comes to his music (among many other things) makes him easily one of the top 5 musicians alive right now, IMO. He's a surfer type, like Jack Johnson, but from England, and he has two people that usually back him up. They are great at being able to get the listener into the exact mood that they want. I really have no clue how he hasn't become more popular over in the US yet, but he's real big in Europe, especially England.

I know a few of you guys on here liked Trampled by Turtles when I posted them a long time ago, but they just came out with a new album, and here is a link to the site that has the album up for playing if anyone wants to listen to it. I heard their song Alone last week as a little teaser, and it was amazing. These guys are really developing their sound, and I love the way they are going. If you're into high energy music, even during slower songs, you'll love these guys.

For you Black Keys fans, I highly recommend you check this album. Dan Auerbach produces and plays guitar on it and obviously Dr.John on the vocals. It has that Keys feel but with a little more grittiness

Blergh, I will once again be putting up with high school crowds and the general awfulness of New Jersey next month. Can't pass up Brand New, Bouncing Souls, and Gaslight Anthem in the same day. Literally my three favorite bands.
hey, don't talk **** on jersey! we gave you those very bouncing souls!
who are putting out a new CD and I can't wait.
I like how the sound is right now

I saw on last year's Bonnaroo booklet that Auerbach and Dr. John were in one fo the superjams. Makes me wonder if this came out before or after, because I heard it was sick, and now I will actually have to listen in to it.

My next door Neighbors are from Jersey and used to live next to The Boss. They've told me quite a few stories about him, lol. I also have met (my buddy plays in a band with this guy) a guy who has played with Springsteen for things like parades and stuff. The guy was even given one of his guitars from Springsteen.
