I've lived like 45 minutes away from Bonnaroo my whole life and I have yet to go. I'm super jealous of your Donald Glover story EATW.
As I've said before, if anyone else is going, I'll meet up next year for a show or something. The bowl with Donald Glover really was just a small blip on the radar of my weekend. Really didn't say much, just that I like his comedy acts more than his other ones. (I really do think he happens to be hilarious as a comedian). Finished it up and we tried to work our way towards the front. Afterwards I realized its something real cool to be able to say you've done, at least to the right people, lol.

I felt like I was a mile away, but their show at Roo was amazing. It would probably be towards the top of my list if I would've been able to get there sooner and get more toward the front. I was real tired when I got to their show, and they woke me right back up, getting second row must've been too awesome to describe. One of the great things about Bonnaroo is I was able to get close enough for a lot of the shows that I really wanted to so I was able to have those staring contest type things with a few of the different bands' members, as well as just seeing the look on their face watching everyone reacting to their music. Its really what makes live music so great for me. When I listen to music I try to imagine how each artist is trying to make the listener feel, and seeing their reactions and emotions towards their fans reactions and emotions just makes me feel that much "closer" to the music.

You really should jump all over seeing Radiohead live and up close if you get the chance. The Roo sounds amazing. I caught a couple live streams but once I get the money together I really would like to go (probably a few years from now haha). I agree that being able to watch the bands reactions to the crowd (brilliant crowd in Montreal) is really incredible. The emotion in the air felt palpable, I could almost taste that ****. Top 5 night of my life just based on that show. Also, driving back to Ottawa afterwards and playing the whole Bonaroo set from a week before was pretty ******* rad too.

I probably will have to jump all over it, because they don't come around my area too often. Its hard for me to spend the type of money for just one band (I think the cheapest tickets I could find were $150 when they were around. Though after seeing their show at Roo, I'd be willing to throw up that type of money if I can get myself right up to the stage. They're captivating (many others, but this one fits great), and being able to be that close has got to be an experience that'd get right up there with Roo for me.

It really is. I woke up at 7 am and clicked refresh on their page for almost 5 hours. It worked out though because I got floor tickets and was let in 10 minutes before general admission because I bought through their website. I always see people last minute selling floor tickets at cost so next time they are in your area let me know and I will see if I can find some good tickets at cost for you.
Every time that Bing commercial comes on, I think of EATW. :)
;)... Their album is the next one I'm guying (as well as Gary Clark Jr's). Every single one of the Lumineers songs I've heard are great, if it weren't for stores around me not having the album, I'd have it already.
Oh yeah, speaking of albums, Mumford and Sons finally has a release date for their next album, September 24th...
And speaking of Mumford and Sons (convenient I remember this now), they are playing their own Gentlemen of the Road festival thing in Bristol, Tennessee on August 11th, I'm pretty sure. They have Dawes, The Very Best, Justin Townes Earl, Jeff the Brotherhood, Apache Relay, Simone Felice and Haim, and some others, IIRC. If you live within reasonable driving distance, that is a show I wouldn't miss. My friend and I are seriously considering going, and its a ten hour drive for us.

Reminds me more of Jack White. Also, I ******* love this song.
The guys singing voice is similar to Dan Auerbach in this song, but musically it reminds me more of Jack White/The White Stripes. Very cool song, I'm definitely going to be looking more into this guy.

Heard the last 15 seconds of this song on my music choice channel two nights ago had to look into them. I've only been able to find videos of these guys in bars playing for a handful of people, but these guys are sick. They are a two man (guitar and drums) blues/roots rock band that I can only describe as ************* badass. They are called 7Horse, and if it weren't for me having to step out to go to my job, I'd find at least one more of their videos and post it, but here is their song Low Fuel Drug Run...
Edit: Here's one of the others, but if you like these two songs, I'd suggest looking into more of their youtube videos and the rest of the album. Its got a real cool groove to it, while remaining real intense...

I just found a video of Ben Howard playing Old Pine (also found a few other songs from the set) at Roo. Besides actually meeting them, this was the highlight of my Bonnaroo right here. I couldn't move and choked back tears the entire time, watching it again makes me tear up almost right away, honestly. IDK what it is, or why I feel such a connection with this song (and The Fear), but I rarely get emotional like I did watching this song live. Somewhere in that crowd is me, wearing a big floppy green hat, with a pair of aviators that probably weren't even covering up the tears that were falling down my face... And no, I wasn't on anything that would make me super emotional, lol.

Dude! Lets go!
Seriously! I've got Stubhub up right now and tickets are going for about $130, and I may just go no matter what!
