They get the automatic bid, but in a conference like the Big East winning the regular season is a bigger deal than winning the conference tournament.

even still, before the BE tourney, Pitt was in 1st and dominant, in the best conference so yeah, that's kinda why they deserve a #1 seed...

That's a crazy foul call at the end of the game, have to stay more under control there if you're Butler and tough to call for the refs to make. Nowhere near the worst call I've seen at the end of a game but I'm somewhat surprised they made that call.
