I don't hate Alford like most Iowa fans do, but he has never been known to win big games in the postseason and has had his share of stumbles against lesser teams.

If Noel doesn't go down they're probably in the dance. Having your best player helps.

But go ahead, keep covering your ears and yelling "lalalalalala recruiting class means nothing." Fact is, that class is probably going to have 4 players that look like they could go straight to the NBA from high school. And the loss to Robert Morris doesn't prove ******* anything. Teams miss the tournament sometimes. **** happens.

A program like Kentucky should never miss the dance with their recruiting classes. And they should never lose to RMU in the first round of the NIT. But god damn do I love seeing it happen.

Kentucky's recruiting class was good last year, but nowhere near at this year's level (which is much closer to what they had two years ago). And because of how this year's team did, they're going to get some of this year's freshmen back. I don't think anyone thinks they're guaranteed a #1 seed since it's way too early for that, but odds are they're going to be very, very good.

Also, they weren't #3 just because of that recruiting class, it was that and the fact that they're a huge name school who was coming off of a national championship. College hoops teams get overrated based on what they did to end the previous year all the time.

It is the recruiting class, and the fact that they will be returing 3 top players from this squad...Cauley Stein, Poythress, and Goodwin.

And when was the last time that happened??? Oh 2 years ago, when they brought in a top class and still had Terrence Jones,Teague, and Miller returning from the previous year.
